Camp Morning Gratitude Poem:
by ee cummings
"i thank You God for most this amazing day
for the leaping greenly spirits of trees and
a blue true dream of a sky; for everything
which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes...
now the ears of my ears are awake
and the eyes of my eyes are open."

Morning Songs:

"We're Awake...!"
We're awake, aware, alive and enthusiastic! (not)
We're awake, aware, alive and enthusiastic!
We're awake, aware, alive!
We're awake, aware, alive!
We're awake, aware, alive and enthusiastic!

"Awake, Awake!"
Awake, awake, the day doth break,
Good campers, welcome to you all!
Come greet the light,
Shake off the night,
This camp is open to all!

Closing Song:

"I Want to Linger..."
Mm mm, I want to linger,
Mm mm, a little longer,
Mm mm, a little longer here with you.
Mm mm, it's such a special night,
Mm mm, it doesn't seem quite right,
Mm mm that it should be my last with you...
It's not! I'll see you tomorrow!

Beauty Time made for pretty pictures for the website, but I think the important work done by campers during GIRL POWER WEEK was our Brainstorming Time.  Campers said they had often been asked "What do you want to be when you grow up?" (meaning, what sort of job do you want to have when you grow up). We talked about the larger question..."How you want to 'Be' in the world?" We came up with this scenario: If you could overhear your friends and family talking about you, what would you like them to say?  Here is just part of the amazing list the campers brainstormed:

responsible, loving, trustworthy, smart, cute, kind, generous, impeccable, honest, fun, funny, friendly,  alert, intelligent, pretty, organized, warm, creative, talented, energetic, resourceful, aware, sweet, nice, athletic, artistic, brave, has stamina, spontaneous, authentic, gentle, flexible.......and MORE!

Bravo Campers! You have taken GIRL POWER to the next level!
